Artist Alley Information

 

Purpose of Artist Alley

Artist Alley is a dedicated space created to uplift independent creators and provide a platform for artists to sell original, unique, and handmade works directly to attendees. At the 50 Shades of Black Anime Convention, Artist Alley is more than a marketplace.  It's a cultural incubator and a living archive of multicultural storytelling. It exists to uplift original voices, preserve creative authenticity, and provide direct economic opportunity to artists whose stories and perspectives have historically been underrepresented in mainstream media.

 

Eligible Merchandise

Artist Alley vendors may sell:

  • Original artwork and illustrations
  • Handmade items (prints, zines, comics, crafts, pins, stickers, etc.)
  • Artist-created characters and original intellectual property

 

Prohibited in Artist Alley

  • Mass-produced or wholesale merchandise
  • Bootleg or unlicensed fan merchandise
  • Resold goods
  • AI-generated artwork or AI-assisted art of any kind
  • Artwork not created by the artist selling it

All art must be created by the artist applying. By participating in Artist Alley, the artist certifies that all work sold is original and handmade.
